We sell student through intermediate violins, violas, cellos, and double basses made in China, Romania, and Germany. These are available in 7 sizes 1/10th through 4/4. One eighth through 4/4 are the most popular sizes and these are what we have available but we can special order any size. We also sell a variety of bows, carrying bags, cases, strings, rosin, stands and other accessories for these instruments. The cellos come in many different finishes including reddish brown, light brown, medium brown and dark brown. Some instruments have different shading accents We offer several options on the type of bridges, strings, bows, tail pieces etc. Our instruments come shop adjusted making it easier to play and learn without the usual problems that you have with instruments that are resold from the suppliers unadjusted.

Some of the cellos that students brought with them when they take lessons at my studio are poorly setup. These instruments were hard to tune, and keep in tune. In addition to this and other problems I generally have to spend some time during the first two lessons making minor adjustments, otherwise we would have a hard time using the instruments for the lessons. Any more difficult problems would need to go back to the place of purchase to get fixed. Why pay someone else to fix this when the place of purchase should be responsible to make the adjustments or repair.

Many music stores sell an instrument the way that they received it, in the case with loose strings and without the bridge installed, leaving it loose in the case. Many other music shops just take the instrument they received from the supplier, install the bridge that came with it, tune it and sell it to the customer not knowing how the instrument played.

Instrument Set up is important

Setting up and shop adjusting an instrument is an important step for a player. Our instruments come adjusted for good fitting tuning pegs (in order to minimize slipping). We also adjust the nuts, sound posts, bridge and proper action of the strings. The correct action makes the instrument play as easy as possible without having any note cause a buzzing sound or have a note missing totally. The more expensive instruments we sell come with a professional set up that we spend more time on to fine tune to enhance the sound etc.

Our cellos are shown on an appointment basis so the customer can work with a person that is very knowledgeable about the instrument. This also gives the customer more personal time with less or no uninterrupted attention.

Some problems we see with student violins/violas/cellos of students who have purchased before coning to us.

Often the strings are too high, making the instrument to hard to play, or the pegs don't turn easily or slip, the bridge curve is too flat and the student spends most of their time fighting with the instrument rather than enjoying their playing.

Go to the violin, viola, cello, or bass, gallery to look at some of the instruments we sell. To view the accessories go to the accessories page.
